Are there “green”, energy efficient or more environmentally friendly ways to operate my pool?
Absolutely! We have all felt the increase in energy prices over the last few years. The Right Way Pool Solutions, Inc. has great news! You can save up to 75% of your swimming pool energy bill by upgrading to newer, more efficient pool equipment. Listed below are a few examples:
Two Speed & Variable Speed Pumps: Two speed pumps are just that; they have two speeds, a high speed for tasks such as backwashing and vacuuming, and a low speed for routine filtering. 99% of the time, the pool is in routine filtering mode, so why would we need a pump that runs on hi speed all the time? We don’t. Unfortunately, most pools have a single high speed pump that waste a considerable amount of energy ($60 per month in some cases). It is not at all uncommon to see a customer save 75% on their pool energy bill by simply converting to a two speed pump. Variable speed pumps work on the same principle as a two speed pump, with the exception of being computer controlled. They carry an onboard computer system that senses the flow rates being demanded by the swimming pool, and automatically adjusts itself to run as efficiently as possible. When two speed and variable speed pumps are running in low speed mode, they consume about the same amount of energy as a 60 watt light bulb.
Saltwater Systems: Saltwater systems are by far the most eco-friendly, cost effective, and healthy way to sanitize your swimming pool. Read more about a saltwater system in the next question on this page.
Efficient Plumbing Schematics: Did you know that your plumbing can affect the efficiency of your pool? Excessive bends and turns create friction inside the pipe, decrease flow, and make your pump work harder to accomplish the same task.
If you are looking to have your swimming pool run more efficient and save some money on your energy bill, either call The Right Way Pool Solutions, Inc. today at 817-713-2568 or request services to set up a free estimate. We have the knowledge and experience it takes to get your swimming pool running as efficiently as possible! |

What are the benefits of a saltwater system? How do they work?
Saltwater systems utilize water softening technology to provide wonderfully smooth and gentle-on-the-skin water for swimming. Say goodbye to red, irritated eyes, itchy skin, green hair, faded swimsuits, and expensive buckets of chlorine.
Start by installing the saltwater system. Then dissolve low levels of ordinary table salt into the pool. Chlorine is generated automatically and naturally by the saltwater system, and then distributed into the pool. Once the chlorine’s purification work is done, it automatically converts back to salt, to be used over and over again. Saltwater systems are a safe, economical, and environmentally friendly way of purifying your pool and spa. Imagine having all the benefits of soft, luxurious swimming pool water without the high cost of chlorine. |

What is the appropriate water level for my pool?
Halfway up the tile line is always a good rule of thumb.
How long should I run my pump? |
Your pump and filter system should have been matched to the size of your swimming pool when it was built. If so, the total water volume is re-circulated roughly twice a day. In most cases this means running the pump for about 8 hours during the summer, and about 5 hours during the winter. Generally speaking, cleaner pumps should run about 4 hours a day, or however long it takes to maintain a clean pool.
What is the best time to run my pump?
It is generally recommended that the pump be set to run during the heat of the day. It is during this time algae and bacteria have the best opportunity to grow. We suggest to set the timer from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. during the summer, and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. during the winter. Cleaners should run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. |
Why is my pump making noise? |
Your pump could be making noise for several reasons. What sort of noise is it? If it is a gurgling kind of sound, then the water in the pool is most likely to low, and you will need to fill it up to the middle of the tile line. If however, the sound is a loud whining or screeching then most likely the pump will need to have the bearings and/or seal replaced. At The Right Way Pool Solutions, Inc. our technicians can promptly diagnose the problems you may be having with your pump so that we can have you swimming again as soon as possible! |
What can I do if I think my swimming pool has a leak?
Your swimming pool will experience normal water loss through the process of evaporation. The rate of evaporation varies but if you are suspecting a greater than normal loss you should begin with the following inspections. |
a. First closely inspect the swimming pool interior shell for cracks and defects. If you identify a structural problem with your swimming pool, we recommend that you request an appointment with one of our skilled service technicians.
b. Check the flexible backwash hose for any water leakage. If water is leaking out of this hose, the "O" rings will need to be replaced inside the backwash valve.
c. Perform a "bucket test" This test will help determine if the pool is leaking or just losing water from evaporation. |
If you suspect a leak, please call The Right Way Pool Solutions, Inc. at 817-713-2568, we will promptly diagnose and repair the leak. |
Why are air bubbles blowing back into my pool? |
This could be due to several things. First, you want to make sure the pool has plenty of water (halfway up the tile line). If the water level gets low, the skimmers suck in air (typically accompanied by a gurgling sound coming from the skimmers). When air goes in, it must come out. Second, if the pool is not low on water, there is probably a suction leak somewhere in the pumping system. If a suction leak is a possibility, call The Right Way Pool Solutions, Inc. as soon as possible, as suction leaks can create a multitude of other costly swimming pool repairs. |
